I first became interested in massage therapy while working as a chiropractic assistant in a chiropractor's office. I wanted to be more hands-on in patient care to aid their recovery. Although I had a background in healthcare with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Allied Health from Elizabethtown College, it didn't allow me to help patients as much as I desired.
In November 2016, I enrolled in Branford Hall Career Institute's accelerated massage therapy program and graduated at the top of my class in May 2017. I passed Connecticut's massage licensing test and became licensed in June 2017.
I was immediately hired by The Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center (now Connecticut Orthopaedics) in Trumbull and Shelton, CT, where I worked alongside Dr. Michelle Pagliaro Haywood, a chiropractor. In this setting, I have had the opportunity to work daily with patients of all ages for various reasons, including surgery prevention, preoperative treatment, postoperative treatment, pain management, sports injuries, motor vehicle accident injuries, personal injuries, and everyday mishaps. Each day, I help my patients with goal-oriented massage, watching them improve and live more pain-free lives.
In 2022, I decided to focus my continued education on pain relief. I began taking courses from the Freedom from Pain Institute in myoskeletal alignment therapy (MAT). Through a combination of in-person and online courses, I completed my full certification in October 2023, becoming a Master of Myoskeletal Therapy (MMT).
No two massages are the same because no two people are the same. Your massage, like everyone else's, is unique to you and your healthcare needs.
Outside massage, I work as a real estate agent with my life partner and family. I enjoy reading, sailing, hunting, and spending time with my dog, Stone.
